Hilfiger denim aligns with Jeans Redesign requirements

Published: 2021-03-05

AMSTERDAM – Fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger has produced its first garments made in line with the requirements of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Jeans Redesign Project.

The project, which launched in 2019 and has since attracted more than 60 brand members, establishes guidelines on garment durability, material health, recyclability and traceability that signatories must meet.

Having developed jeans and denim jackets that meet the requirements, Tommy Hilfiger’s CEO, Martijn Hagman, commented: “This shift requires a full rethink of the fashion value chain, and these pieces are a testament to the skill, expertise and dedication of both teams as we continue to push the boundaries in both design and manufacturing. This is just one step on our path to creating fully circular products.”
