Farfetch introduces environmental initiative- The Positively Conscious Campaign

Published: 2021-07-07

Farfetch, a British-Portuguese online luxury fashion retail platform has announced The Positively Conscious Campaign, which will run throughout June, in celebration of World Environment Day on June 5, 2021, and to recognize the designers, brands, and retailers making efforts to reduce fashion's environmental effect.

The e-commerce website is showcasing small runs, the best pre-owned products for resale, as well as upcycled and repurposed materials, with editorial content urging the support of sustainable change-makers, with an emphasis on sustainability.

TEKLA, Alighieri, Ancuta Sarca, Chopova Lowena, pre-owned Chanel, Collina Strada, Acne, Ahluwalia, and many more are in the limelight.

Customers may also use Farfetch's 'Circular Services – Second Life,' 'Donate,' and 'Farfetch Fix' repair services to clear space in their closets while earning credit.

Farfetch uses a set of independently backed criteria to qualify what it classifies as ‘conscious' products on the platform. There are dedicated edits of pre-owned pieces for womenswear and menswear, conscious jewelry, and upcycled watches.

Products are either made of independently recognized or certified materials (organic, recycled, and upcycled fabrics or low impact cellulosic materials), that have been created through a certified production process, be pre-owned, or belong to a brand that receives high scores from ethical rating agency Good on You to make the cut.

The platform was created with the goal of better matching supply and demand and thereby reducing waste by selling current goods in tiny boutiques throughout the world.
