CHANEL Officially Launches the 2026 Métiers d‘Art Collection.

Published: 2025-12-03

The first Métiers d’art collection under Matthieu Blazy’s leadership at CHANEL has officially been unveiled. This time, Blazy took fashion to an abandoned subway station. The platform buzzed with energy, and celebrities like Teyana Taylor, Jessie Buckley, A$AP Rocky, Margaret Qualley, and Tilda Swinton gathered on wooden benches, exuding an air of luxury.

New York served as the ideal stage for Matthieu Blazy’s second act. Although the city is neither the birthplace of CHANEL nor a quintessential European getaway, CHANEL shares a close bond with New York. As early as 1931, Gabrielle Chanel passed through the city on her way to Hollywood, and in 2018, Karl Lagerfeld held his final Métiers d’art show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Through this collection, Matthieu Blazy captured the essence of a "New York attitude." His grasp of modern urban style was unmistakable—from classic animal prints to minimalist streetwear, whether it was the dreamy long feathered coats, classic sweaters tied around the waist, or retro transparent raincoats, each piece reflected the spirit of urban fashion. These designs, deeply inspired by CHANEL’s heritage, were elevated by Blazy into a modern way of dressing. Whether these garments were a nod to history or a response to contemporary trends, they seamlessly integrated into the backdrop of New York—this is the city’s undeniable charm.
